As a historical fiction novelist, my purpose is to share meaningful stories that naturally emerge from the panorama of human history. I strive for accurate but dramatic historical fiction. History itself is the frame for the human experience, with all its suffering and joys. Fiction emerges in the narrative details of human lives that history cannot capture from the outside.

My vision is to create a community of readers who are passionate about great literature and ancient history. Myths were likely created when we humans thought we heard the gods whispering to us, so, in the same spirit, let us stay attuned to the gods..

As a creative writer, my moral values lean more toward anarchistic discovery than social convention. Creativity trumps comfortable expectations. A good adventure need not be only escapist when learning is involved. The sense of meaningful exploration in a literary historical novel will continue long after the story's end. “In this well-written, absorbing novel, Nixon has combined thoroughly researched fact with highly evocative fiction to produce a gripping story set within the context of the collapse of civilizations at the end of the Bronze Age.”

"The Diomedeia tells the richly-layered, multi-dimensional, epic poetic tale of transformation in which the larger-than-life heroic warrior Diomedes. ... Through masterful use of classical literary style, colorful detailed description, and juxtaposition of both historic and mythic beings, the author spins a vivid metaphysical tapestry not unlike Dante's Inferno or Milton's Paradise Losts." —David Roberts, Amazon

"I was ready for a different kind of read – and The Diomedeia did not disappoint! A very engaging narrative that was, at the same time captivating in its storyline as well as informative and illuminating about the period without being too 'teachy' or pedantic. How could it be? After all there was brutal fighting and swordplay and torture and love and vivid sex and camaraderie and deceit and . . . well, you get the picture. My ‘different kind of read’ turned out to be quite the page turner." —John Martini, Goodreads

"The Diomedeia will take you on a journey of discovery as strong lead males and even stronger lead women live, love and die near the end of the Bronze Age. Absolutely riveting descriptions of the quest for power, of battles, of the illusions of male based spirituality, of love and love making, of binding friendships, of secret ceremonies, of 'our human destiny in a chaotic world'."
—Barbara Williams-Freeman, Goodreads

"This was a compelling, gripping ancient historical fiction read. As a longtime enthusiast in regards to Ancient Greek mythology and history, it was so fascinating to see the unique balance the author found between the educational, historical facts and mannerisms from the people of that era, with the exploration of mythology and the impact that belief system had on the people and their culture back in that era, including the reintroduction of the Triple Goddess and her role in people’s lives."

"The book is thoroughly researched and the author clearly knows his ancient history. The myths and poems of Homer resound in this epic adventure that kept me spellbound and intrigued. The book sets the stage slowly introducing the main cast of wonderfully developed characters and weaves together the various stories and perspectives into an epic adventure placing Diomedes, that great overshadowed hero of The Iliad, at the centre of the action and romance."
